My Clients Would Describe Me As:
An intuitive, insightful, calm and nurturing presence who creates a safe space for them to share and explore things they have never shared before.
Something To Know About My Approach Is:
I am a well-trained therapist and coach but I am also a human, and will always connect with you in a very real and human way that doe not feel sterile, rigid or judgmental.
I believe that we are often hurt in relationship and that we heal in relationship and I want our relationship to be a safe space for you to heal.
I believe that the work that happens outside of the therapy session is just as important as what happens in session. You will always walk away from our sessions with practical skills, tools and resources that you can begin to use right away.
Together, We Will:
Explore the belief systems, thoughts, habits and patterns of behavior that are holding you back from living the life you desire.
Combine practical elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Core Beliefs Coaching, emotion-focused Inner Child Work, mindfulness and body-based Somatic Embodiment to help you develop a sense of safety and security within.
From that space you will learn how to create a solid foundation in order to intentionally move forward toward building your most authentic life.
I Became A Therapist Because:
I find human behavior fascinating.
I believe that every human is worthy and deserving of experiencing healing, growth and transformation and that it is possible for everyone.
Degrees, Trainings and Certifications:
I received my Bachelors degree in Social Work from West Chester University in 2008.
I received my Masters degree in Social Work from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2013.
I am licensed in the State of Pennsylvania (#SW133912) and have training in trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Inner Child Healing work.
I am a Certified Transformational Nutrition Coach through ICF accredited Institute of Transformational Nutrition.
I am certified in Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Strategies through Collectively Rooted.
I am currently training in Rapid Transformation Therapy and Coaching, created by world-renowned therapist, Marisa Peer.
Through this training I am learning how to utilize the power of hypnosis to work with the subconscious mind.
How Working With Me Is Different:
A lot of therapists operate strictly within the medical-model and focus on symptom management.
Symptom management is like cutting away the leaves, while ignoring the root, which just means that after a given amount of time the leaves (symptoms) will return.
Due to my training I may operate differently than a traditionally trained talk therapist and work to get to the root cause of the challenges you bring to session.
Together we work to eliminate the decaying and rotting roots and plant new seeds, so that new, better, different and more healthy things can grow in your life.
When I'm Not Working You'll Find Me:
- Reading
- Walking (typically while listening to my favorite podcasts or an audiobook)
- Writing - I'm a published author and you can find my book here
- Spending time with my partner, traveling, rewatching Bridgerton for the 100th time and cooking and/or eating really amazing food.
